This was our first attempt at drone fishing. It was really fun and attracted a crazy crowd. Unfortunately, , even though we didn't catch anything it probably one of my favorite fishing days. Here is a step by step on how we pulled it off. Step 1. Called oceanside PD to make sure that there were no city ordinances against flying drones. The officer and I spoke for about 15 minutes while she did a little digging. The only thing is endangering public safety. So our solution to that was simply ask everyone to back away and catch the drone by hand so there would be no risk to bystanders. Step 2. Checked with fish and game about using a drone to fish. You can legally fish with a drone however, the line must remain attached to the pole. Please don't try to catch a fish with your drone. Step 3. Called the local airport the morning of and confirmed that we were able to fly that day safely.
